When we were in the PICU a couple lactation consultants came to visit (can you say - good service?). One of the LC's indicated to us that a baby can smell his mother's milk from 30 feet away. Yesterday, we got our proof.
I was in the shower and Ramesh was consoling an upset Dylan. He was apparently nice and calm until the second I opened the shower door and he started to cry. By the time I was dry, he was very vocal about being ready to eat!
Weird stuff.

The survival instinct is strong in we humans, eh? Even at birth, it kicks in like a banshee!
