Let's just forget how far behind I am...

...and move on with the news that I've been missing.

We had some visitors during the past month. My Aunt Connie came from Tucson and stayed for 2 weeks at my parent's house. It really was great to be able to spend time with her. We talk often on the phone, but in person is always a plus!

Mohan and Shirley came for a visit around the 22nd of August. We had a nice time and I think they enjoyed playing with the boys.

Some of the biggest news from the month happened all on the same day! Aidan turned 6 and started his first day of 1st grade! He's going to a new school - North Ridge Elementary. The school is only a couple of miles from the house and he's riding the schoolbus for the first time. I think he's enjoying himself so far. He always has a smile when he gets on/off the bus.

For Aidan's birthday this year we decided to keep it simple. Aside from the fact his birthday was the 1st day at a new school - the kid just doesn't have a lot of friends yet. We're hoping that by the end of the year he'll have a bunch of buddies. We ended up with pizza and cake and the entire family for his birthday. It was actually the first time he's had both sets of grandparents for a birthday, so we of course took a lot of pictures.

The next day we went to Frankie's with my friend Molly, her husband Ben and their two boys Henry and Alex. Oh man was it fun! The boys played in the funhouse while we enjoyed some video games. Then we all headed outside for go karts and bumper boats. I will definitely be going back there again!
