- Survived a "limited restructuring" at Cisco this week. We are so very thankful for that.
- Got his butt kicked in a boot camp fitness class last week. He went again this week and came out of it feeling much better than the previous week.
- Ripped out some bushes in our front yard so that we can have a raised flower bed. It's hard to get to yard work when you don't get home until after dark!
- Is signed up to take Connor to a "Daddy and me sports" class that starts next weekend. I think it'll be a good bonding experience for them.
- I've been working on a crazy project: repaint the downstairs. I'm more than half way done with the front hall and stairs. After that is the playroom and living room.
- Still trying to get to the gym 3+ days per week. Doing much better in pilates and the increase in balance has really helped with standing on a step stool and painting!
- Attending "Friends of the Preschool" meetings in hopes of increasing my own volunteerism.
- Doing fantastic in school! Scored a 98 on his Cognitive Aptitude Testing and will be tasking some additional testing to determine qualification for the Academically Gifted program.
- Had some issues at school with a boy picking on him/trying to harm him. Between ourselves, his teacher and the school principal we are hopeful the problem has been resolved. Nothing scarier than putting your kid on the bus to go to a place where he may be hurt by another child.
- Trying to figure out what activities he wants to pursue. Soccer? Tennis? Cub Scouts? Decisions...decisions.... This is of course in response to our insisting he will not be playing video games all summer long and that he needs to make some friends!
- Is going to be in the 3rd grade musical at the end of March. He might even have a solo (consisting of 1 line)!
- Making huge strides in speech. His therapist is very pleased. Connor takes pride in being able to say large words (tomorrow, today, refrigerator, etc).
- Suffering from illness this week. Multiple fevers, vomiting and genial malaise. We're going to the pediatrician this afternoon to have his ears checked since he's been complaining that they hurt.
- Having fun on non-school days playing with friends. We've had a couple of play dates in the past 2 weeks so that Connor can burn some energy with other wonderful little boys!
- Loving science projects in school. They made discovery bottles, played with some magnets and melted ice. Apparently the ice melting was a big hit and Connor wants to do it again!
- Still working on getting 4 new teeth on top. They've all cut through, so he's officially got 6 teeth! He's generally a great sport about it. Only side effect so far is a total disinterest in food. Bottles are ok, food is not.
- Up on hands and knees rocking more often. Scoots backwards and twirls in circles as mode of transportation. The unfortunate result is not being able to control which way you're going!
- Plays with finger food (puffs) but grimaces and gags if something accidentally gets shoved on to his mouth.
- Went to the dermatologist 2 weeks ago due to a neck rash he's had off and on for 6 months. 3 days of a new medicine and it's all cleared up!!!! He goes for a follow-up next week.
Anyway, here's those crazy boys
